Doug Fritz brings experience that spans across the spectrum of investment management industry, including analysis and management of projects from private wealth management to large institutional investment management groups. Doug has been involved with operational assessment and business process outsourcing, risk management/quant analysis, investment planning and sales force enabling projects.
Doug has earned this experience at Wells Fargo, Evergreen Investments, Bearing Point Consulting, and Credit Suisse First Boston. In addition, Doug served as Member of the Board of Directors at Respite and Research for Alzheimer's disease. He earned his Bachelor of Administration in Russian and International Trade at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
Mr. Glasgow is Senior Vice President / Financial Advisor with the Private Client Group and brings to the firm and clients 20 years of individual and institutional investment experience. Steve began his career as a municipal bond trader with Paine Webber / UBS. In 1995 he moved to Nashville, where several years later he joined Morgan Stanley and from 2004 to 2008 he was with Wachovia Securities. From September 2008 to March, 2009, Steve was SrVP / Financial Advisor with Stanford Group. Steve works with individual and institutional investors, which include defined contribution plans, defined benefit plans, endowments and foundations.
Steve received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Auburn University and his MBA from the Crummer School of Business at Rollins College. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designee. He is also a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz School of Business Accredited Investment fiduciary (AIF) program and holds the Plan Sponsor Retirement Professional (PRP) designation from the Plan Sponsor Institute.
Howard Present is Co-Founder, and held the roles of President and CEO of F-Squared Investments since the firm’s inception. Prior to F-Squared, Howard Present was Managing Director at Evergreen Investments where he was a member of the Evergreen Executive Committee. Mr. Present ran global product management and strategy for the firm, led the successful multi-billion dollar business launch into closed end funds, and was business owner of the Alternative Investments, Managed Accounts, VA, and 529 businesses. He was also a lead participant in the firm’s M&A efforts.
Prior to joining Evergreen, he was a Managing Director at Putnam Investments, where he founded the firm’s Corporate Product Management department. He also was Partner and Director of Strategy for the Boston Financial Group, a leader in the real estate investment industry, and spent 6 years at Chase Manhattan Private Bank where he ran the firm’s offshore fund business. Mr. Present earned a BS in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Emory University, where he was awarded the Robert W. Woodruff Fellowship for academic excellence.
Charles Smith is a New York-based Senior Manager in the Advisory Services practice of Ernst & Young LLP. He has over 18 years experience in the Financial Services sector, primarily in wealth management. Charles has deep knowledge in wealth management product areas and is an inventor on 7 US patents on wealth management process and product design. Over the last 10 years, Charles has worked extensively with many of the top 10 US financial services institutions with a focus on several key wealth management areas: product strategy and platform design; operating model development; client reporting, process improvement; service delivery strategy and approach.
Prior to joining EY, Charles had senior leadership roles at Fiserv/CheckFree, Misys, and Thomson Financial (now Thomson Reuters). He led product management/marketing teams focused on delivering technology solutions designed to enable financial services clients, and has managed relationship management teams focused on working with C-level executives on utilizing technology solutions to grow and streamline their businesses. Charles as an AB in economics from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
John D. Simpson has been with The Spaulding Group since 2005. During this time he has worked with numerous key clients. He was responsible for developing the firm's training program in support of the CFA Institute's CI PM program. John is currently a member of the United States Investment Committee's After-Tax Working Group, working on recommendations for firms that present after-tax performance results. John is a senior consultant and also conducts GIPS verifications and non-performance audits for many of The Spaulding Group's investment management clients. John also serves as the firm's Chief Ethics Officer.
Prior to joining The Spaulding Group, John spent 20 years with Integrated Decision Systems, which was a New York-based software vendor that provided portfolio accounting and performance measurement solutions to the investment industry (IDS was acquired by CheckFree). He was the Product Manager for their GIM Performance and CALiPER investment performance & analytics systems. John was responsible for the enhancement "road maps" for the performance systems with the primary responsibility of aligning the product's goals with customer needs and market demands. He also acted as chief business analyst in designing performance analytics and portfolio accounting functionality. John holds a BS in Applied Mathematics from UCLA, where he was a member of their 1987 NCAA national championship volleyball team.
