Since its debut over 30 years ago, the separately managed account industry has grown tremendously, moving steadily from the institutional to the retail sector. To date, investment professionals compared the performance of separately management accounts against various benchmark concepts such as normalized portfolios, security indices, and peer group universe of separately managed account products, whether they are live accounts or representative composites.

  Instead of these benchmark options, PSN has taken the initiative to create and introduce a new type of benchmark. These benchmarks or indices are derived using universes of separately managed accounts. They are the PSN Separately Managed Account Indices.

  Investment professionals can now gain insight into how various investment portfolios are compared against these separately managed account benchmarks, as opposed to security benchmarks or elaborate and time consuming normalized portfolios.

  Similar to other benchmarks, PSN Separately Managed Account Indices can be used for all sorts of investment comparisons. Each index can provide a unique and supplementary picture in each performance comparison, performance measurement, due diligence process, and client presentations.
